How does body composition scale work?

As the name suggests, a body composition scale gives you a deeper understanding of what your body is made of. It measures this by using simple technology based on sending harmless electric current through your body. This is called bio impedance analysis.

1. A safe and harmless electric current is sent through your body by sensors on the scale
2. The scale measures the resistance, or bioimpedance, of different tissues, which have different levels of resistance due to their water content
3. By using the calculated resistance and algorithms, the scale calculates an estimated percentage of body fat, muscle mass, bone mass and water percentage
4. The results are displayed on the LED screen and the MovingLife app 

What does the body composition scale measure?

The NOOA Bodysync Smart body composition scale measures up to 16 metrics beyond your weight. These include muscle mass, bone density, body fat and water percentage. Rather than using the scale purely for weight management, measurements can be seen as part of your comprehensive physical health. The results can be used to set balanced wellness goals such as maintaining muscle strength or adequate hydration and tracking any changes.

How do I use the NOOA Bodysync Smart?

Before stepping on the scale, you can set up the MovingLife application on your phone. In order to get accurate measurements, the app requests your personal information, but the app can be also used in guest mode, where no info is saved. Once the app is set up, step on the ITO coated electrodes with bare feet, making sure your feet evenly cover all four electrodes. The durable ITO coating increases the conductivity of the electrodes, meaning the electric current measuring the resistance of different tissues is even more precises. The measured data is transferred onto the app via Bluetooth.

Weigh your baby easily

The adult & infant mode of the Bodysync scale allows you to easily measure and track your baby’s weight during infancy. By using this feature, you can hold your baby while on the scale.
